TL;DR: For the month of May, all profits from the Will Run For Doughnuts Baking box, with or without the book, will be donated to the National Network of Abortion Funds. I hope you'll join me in using your ingredients for a bake sale. It's cathartic, and it's a great opportunity to nourish your community, raise essential funds, and engage in important conversations.
I've spent the last 24 hours feeling absolutely defeated. Spending 6 hours in the ER with a sick child, I had plenty of time to think about how our healthcare system is broken, how we make decisions about our health and bodies, and what it means for folks who don't have the financial power to make the decisions that are best for them.
But I woke up this morning to the official announcement that my friend, Rachel Wyman, had re-branded her bakery, Montclair Bread Company, as Rabble Rise. For me, it makes so much sense. Part of what has drawn us together is the "Rabble Rouser" ethos - stand up for other people, advocate for our communities, connect and share love through food.

On Election Day in 2020, Rachel stress-baked four nearly 14 hours and we opened the bakery to sell comfort food and raise money for Planned Parenthood. We didn't know if anyone would come... then there was a line around the block and folks stuffing fistfuls of cash in the donation jar until we sold every last stitch of baked goods AND the whole stock pile of ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. She's shown me how to live by the power of your convictions.
Late last night, my best friend announced she'd do a bake sale in San Francisco. She's making matcha cakes and chocolate chip cookies and donating the proceeds to the National Network for Abortion Funds. We have the power to engage with our communities and each contribute a piece.

Sure, we can swap stories about our abortion experiences and re-post on Instagram, but right now I need action. I want to put my money where my mouth is... literally. I want to protect access to safe and legal abortion for anyone who needs it - whatever the reason. Abortion is health care and a human right.
